my-obsession

So I have an addiction… 3D. Yes, I am obsessed with 3D. I will always choose to watch something in 3D over 2D any day of the week.

I’m not sure, but I think I may own more 3D movies than anyone else in the world.

I’ve talked to a lot of people who don’t think 3D is worth the added costs—and I get it. Some movies are very poor conversions where a studio is trying to get top dollar from you for very little effort.

But when it’s shot right or converted correctly, it’s magical.

From traveling to the enchanting world of Pandora in Avatar to taking flight with the owls in Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole, for me, there is no better way to experience a movie.

My hands were literally sweating as I watched Philippe Petit (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) walk the high-wire between the Twin Towers in The Walk. 3D allows you to feel like you’re up there walking the tightrope with him.

On October 28th, Mystery Science Theater 3000 joins the mix with The Mask in 3D—their first movie riff in 3D—so you know what I’ll be watching at the Gizmoplex this Friday!

Get your tickets and support independent television here.

This isn’t some sales pitch where I get a commission. I do not have any affiliation with MST3K. I’m just a fan of the show and 3D… and an even bigger fan of supporting independent television!

Hit reply and let me know what your favorite 3D experience was.

Until next time, may you enjoy your journeys into the third dimension!

Joe
